These speakers are exactly what I was looking for. I work in construction, so I was looking for a set of bluetooth speakers that are easy to carry around on the job, and held a charge for more than just a couple of hours. This was the answer. The handle made it easy to carry so I read on. When I noticed it was solar powered, I thought to myself "Well that's great, but what good is the speakers' battery never dying if my phone battery dies?" Then I saw it had a USB connection that will charge my phone too. UNBELIEVABLE. Also the sound is pretty good. Don't expect these to be a main stereo system for your house, but they have decent bass, and clear highs and mids. I would recommend this product to everyone who needs something to listen to while you're outside.

Just got this last night and am loving it so far. The product is sturdy and feels solidly built. It's just what I was looking for and allows me to listen to podcasts - which I stream over my mobile phone - in the shower, kitchen, living room, etc. without having to unplug and move my phone. The speakers are not concert loud but are more than loud enough for my needs. Add in solar and ac power, and it's easily a 5-star product.
In response to another commentator, you can in fact pause and play audio from the unit itself without having to locate the device from which it's broadcasting. I discovered by accident that pressing the bluetooth button pauses my audio podcasts (I use Beyond Pod for Android); pressing it again restarts. Combined with the volume up and down buttons, I have all the controls I need. I'm not sure whether the same works for Pandora or other mobile-borne audio.

I bought this and forgot about it, until someone tried to play their iphone in the golfcart on their speaker to pass the time while waiting for the players in front. Needless to say I grabbed it from the car when we got close to the 1st tee again and it has never been away from the sport since. Its been thrown around at the beach, propper up in the sand and thrown in the back of the car and still seems to work. One point to note is the charging and sync get need some patience, but work with every phone friends have tried to connect with. It has taken a few knocks off the beerpong table and wiped clean and kept on going. Wait for it to get discounted again as its a useful party piece to bring along. Warning - people will try and pinch it and/or ask to borrow it to charge their phones.. so keep the plug handy for overnight charging, and check who has it

I spend allot of time on my deck when it is warm out and have been struggling to find an elegant solution to listening to music downloaded to my phone when I am out there. Enter the Eton Rukus Solar Bluetooth Sound System. This device has thus far fit my needs perfectly.
(1) I charged it once a few days ago...since that time, my battery has continued to stay full. The built in Solar Panel keeps it charged continuously throughout the day.
(2) It was a breeze to connect to my Android phone. Once I paired the device through my Wireless Manager, it now automatically streams to the player if the Rukus is on and within range. No user intervention on my part.
(3) Sound Quality is just fine. It is certainly not high fidelity, but should meet the needs of 99% of all people.
(4) Not clunky, ultra portable.
(5) Stylish and slick looking in an old school way! My neighbors saw mine, and they liked it enough that they also ended up purchasing one.
(6) Its just reliable. Works when you want it to work. I can't recommend enough.
(7) Left it outside overnight and it rained! The Rukus is no worse for wear and playing just fine afterwards. Very durable it seems!

To wirelessly play your device through the Rukus, it must be ‘paired’. To pair it, turn on the Rukus, press the Bluetooth button until the Bluetooth icon flashes in the display. Then pair your other Bluetooth device to it. If you don’t know how to pair it, please contact the manufacturer. It essentially pairs with the Rukus in the same way as it’s paired to a Bluetooth earpiece.
If you device doesn’t have Bluetooth capability, the use a stereo cord, plugged into the Rukus’ Aux input.
